"Light through Loss"
The perforations that mark this sculpture represent the many losses we have collectively endured: lives lost to war and pandemic, jobs vanished in economic turmoil, relationships fractured during times of upheaval. They seem to say that nothing remains unchanged amid such impermanence.
Yet these "holes" in our lives, though painful, have also allowed inner wisdom and light to shine through. We have found inner strength we did not know we possessed. The holes in our lives have acted as lenses, refracting the light of wisdom and perspective that only suffering can bring. Stripped down by what has been taken away, we have been able to rebuild ourselves in truer, wiser ways.
In a time of so much global darkness, "Light through Loss" offers a message of hope: that out of great collective suffering, an even greater light may arise within us. The spirit of human compassion and care for one another can become illuminated through our shared losses.
